The team at Stradbrook Skin is headed by Partner and Owner, Amanda Joyner. Amanda qualified as a dentist in 1987 at Edinburgh University.  She joined Stradbrook Dental Centre in 1990 and became a partner in 1993.  Since then she has built up a loyal customer base within the dental practice, priding herself in treating nervous patients.
 
As cosmetic dentistry has evolved she has developed a special interest in facial aesthetics to compliment this, undergoing training in laser, IPL technology, line reducing injectables such as Botox, medical microdermabrasion and medical chemical peels. This has led to the setting up of Stradbrook Skin, creating a separate medical aesthetic clinic.
 
Amanda is a gold member of the International Academy of Advanced Facial Aesthetics, a member of the British Medical Laser Association and the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery

He gained his dental degree from Kings college school of medicine and dentistry, university of London in 1989, and was awarded postgraduate diplomas from the Royal College Of Surgeons in 1989 and University College London in 2002. Simon is now in the final year of his masters degree at UCL.
 
Simon’s special interests are in cosmetic dentistry and dento facial aesthetics, and he has trained in both Europe and the United States in these fields.
 
Simon is a full member of the British academy of cosmetic dentistry, and the International academy of advanced facial aesthetics.

Melissa is our Skin Clinic Manager and started the role in January 2011.

Melissa qualified in Holistic aromatherapy 13 years ago and then went on to train in beauty therapy and advanced stress therapy massage where she  then ran a very successful business at a golf and leisure club.

Alongside this business she worked for Mavala for 5 years as a training ambassador for the south, this role not only included training in salons and  colleges but also running PR events, their account in Harrods and working on the QVC shopping channel.

Melissa is now fully trained in IPL hair removal microdermabrasion and skin peels. She lives at home with her fiancé and is getting married in July next year.

Miss Hazari works in the East Kent and South East Kent areas, privately and within the NHS in both areas.  She also consults in both areas. She is on the Specialist GMC register as an accredited Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. She specialises in a full range of Cosmetic Procedures, as well as Reconstructive Microsurgical procedures for trauma and cancer patients, and Body Contouring for extreme Weight Loss Patients. You can be sure that as a patient you will be treated as an individual, in a caring straight forward manner with every aspect of your surgery covered as well as your after care, to ensure you are confident with every aspect of your procedure.
 

Our specialist dermatologist Rowena McKenzie has over 14 years experience in dermatology. Rowena qualified in medicine at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in 1991. She then went on to specialise in Dermatology at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, obtaining her fellowship in Dermatology from the College of Medicine of South Africa.  She has worked in hospital dermatology departments since 1995 and has been a consultant since 2000.

Before arriving in the United Kingdom in 2008, she owned one of the pre-eminent dermatology specialist referral practices in Cape Town, South Africa, including both medical and cosmetic dermatology.

Her experience and expertise, combined with that of the rest of our team, enables us to help our patients by providing comprehensive, integrated treatments.

Dr Pietro Farro has more than 10 years’ experience in dermatology and laser treatments. He qualified as a medical doctor in 1996 and then as a Specialist  in Dermatology in 2000 and also gained a PhD in cutaneous microbiology in 2004.  He qualified and practiced in Naples, Italy and now divides his time between working as a Consultant Dermatologist in Italy and in private practice in the UK. His decision to join us at Stradbrook Skin was made because we are one of the few clinics in the UK to own the world famous Palomar laser and IPL system. Dr Farro is married with 3 sons and enjoys swimming, meteorology and music in his spare time.

Simon gained his degree and diploma in osteopathy from the European School of Osteopathy in 2008. Since qualifying he has gone on to teach osteopathic technique classes part time at his old university as well as working in private practise.

In 2009 he decided to do a post graduate course in acupuncture / dry needing and now uses this additional treatment method alongside osteopathy.

Helen Staveley qualified as a beauty therapist in 1983 and is CIDESCO trained. Helen has done further training in aromatherapy and advanced electrolysis and is also qualified in advanced skin peels, medical microdermabrasion and IPL.
 
Helen runs a very successful beauty business established 25 years ago. She has a strong loyal clientele many of whom have been with her since the beginning. She has a caring, sympathetic and understanding approach to her clients.
 
Helen is married to Clive and has two children and a cat. She enjoys spending time in France, loves the arts and especially fine food and wines!

As an injury forced my own retirement from sport some years ago I was driven to stay involved in a sporting environment. Since I began working as a therapist i have been lucky enough to work in a number of great places, along the way I have worked with everyone from 9 to 90 year olds, from grass roots to olympic finalists.

The disruption caused by an injury, regardless of its origin (sport or otherwise) is a real disruption to a busy life. It can get in the way of simple day to day activities, effect work and impede on the activities you like to do for leisure time.

I endeavour to help anyone make the most of their health and fitness by keeping people active and helping people to return to their activities as quickly as possible.
