Facial redness/flushing or blushing can be described as an involuntary reddening of the face, often due to embarrassment or stress but also just a reaction of the skin for no apparent reason. Rosacea – a general inflammation of the cheeks and face – can make you feel very self-conscious about your looks. We use IPL photo-facials to treat these conditions. Our special Palomar laser emits pulses of light into the skin, which are then absorbed by the blood in the visible veins, and converted to heat. The heat shrinks the vessels so they are no longer visible, giving you a natural, even skin tone.

For acute, active and severe rosacea medical therapy is required. This includes either topical creams or oral tablets or both. This can be prescribed on consultation with our dermatologist. In certain instances this is required prior to commencing intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment. In other cases medical therapy is given at the same time as doing IPL treatments.
